- NKVE Partial Lane Closure For Seven Months Beginning March 30
The New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) will have a partial lane closure from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily beginning March 30.
This is to help PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) upgrade a Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) bridge at KM11.25 between the Shah Alam and Subang interchanges.
PLUS estimates that the work, which will be done at night with the assistance of the Malaysian Highway Authority and KTMB, will be completed on November 2.
"Staggered lane closures will be implemented between KM10.5 and KM11.3 of the NKVE at night." The lanes will be fully reopened to users at 5 a.m. to ensure no disruption to traffic flow, particularly for road users during peak hours," PLUS senior general manager Mohd Yusuf Abdul Aziz said at a press conference on Tuesday. (March 28). He added that the KTM bridge would be raised from 4.5m to 5.4m to allow more heavy vehicles to pass through the stretch. There would be no traffic congestion during the holiday season.
"Works will be suspended for approximately 10 days during, before, and after the Hari Raya celebration," Mohd Yusuf said at a press conference held at Persada PLUS in Petaling Jaya. During the construction period, road users are advised to plan their trip using the PLUS app to receive the most recent traffic updates and to follow PLUS traffic signs and instructions.
