BYD, the world's leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles, and Sime Darby Motors, the automotive arm of Sime Darby Bhd, recently celebrated another milestone with the opening of two new BYD centres in Penang and Johor Bahru.

Both of these new BYD establishments, like the previous BYD showrooms in Ara Damansara and TREC, are managed by BYD Sime Darby Beyond Auto. In addition, BYD Service Centres have been established in Sungai Pinang and Skudai to provide aftersales services. Photo-2-(5).jpg

"With both new centres designed to offer elevated experiences for customers as they are integrated in shopping malls, the latest BYD showroom expansion in the northern and southern regions demonstrates the brand's accelerating growth across Malaysia," Sime Darby  Motors said. Photo-4-(1).jpg

Jeffrey Gan, managing director of Sime Darby Motors Retail and Distribution – Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Macau, said, “The response to BYD in the Malaysian market has been overwhelmingly positive, clearly demonstrating growing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in the country.”

Eagle Zhao, managing director of BYD Malaysia Sdn Bhd and PT BYD Motor Indonesia, commented, “The aggressive expansion of BYD’s network in Malaysia shows positive growth for EV prospects in the country, as more Malaysians recognise BYD’s brand presence and the benefits of EVs.” BYD customers from the north and south can now take advantage of a variety of amenities in these new BYD 1S & 2S Centres. The aftersales service centres are staffed by highly trained technicians who can provide diagnostic assistance for car maintenance and service requirements.
