Toyota GR Supra 45th Anniversary Edition Pays Tribute to The 90s Supra
2024 Toyota GR Supra 45th Anniversary Edition
Toyota US is busy updating its GR lineup for the 2024 Model Year (2024MY) update, and fortunately this update includes a slew of special edition models for JDM heads to gouge their eyes to.

Aside from the AE86, the Toyota Supra is also celebrating a new milestone this year, marking 45 years since the nameplate’s inception. For its near-five-decade milestone, Toyota US has unveiled the all-new Toyota GR Supra 45th Anniversary Edition. Only available in 900 examples, this commemorative special model pays tribute to the iconic 90s JDM sportscar, the legendary Toyota Supra Mk4.
While the base car itself does resemble the Mk4 Supra a bit, most of the homage came in the form of its two special colourways – Mikan Blast (orange) and Absolute Zero (white), with 450 of them being painted in former and the other 450 in the latter. Regardless of your paint preferences, the 45th Anniversary model comes standard with black ‘Supra’ decal on either side of the car, while its tailgate gets a sizable manually-adjustable rear wing, also finished in black.
To go with these black parts, the GR Supra 45th Anniversary Edition rides on matte black 19-inch wheels with 10-spoke design. Hiding behind the front ones is GR-badged brake callipers – also finished in black.
The 45th Anniversary model is based on the 3.0 Premium spec of the GR Supra, which means it sports the same BMW-sourced 3.0-litre inline-six twin-turbocharged mill that delivers 382 HP to boot. Said engine is mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or the 8-speed automatic ones – both of them sourced from German manufacturer ZF.
The special edition treatment, however, is less prominent once we get inside the car. Just like the Premium-spec GR Supra, the 45th Anniversary Edition gets the same equipment and finishing, with highlights include the GR sports seat, leather-wrapped steering wheel and GR badging on the gear knob. The only notable difference in the cabin is the inclusion of the special edition badging that denotes the total units of the model.
The 2024 Toyota GR Supra 45th Anniversary Edition will go on sale in the US later this year in fall, alongside the 2024MY version of the standard GR Supra. With Toyota US yet to unveil its pricing, we can expect this special edition to be slightly heftier than the standard ones, as only 900 units will be rolling out of Magna Steyr’s assembly line in Austria. And just like the special Toyota GR 86 Trueno Edition, the GR Supra 45th Anniversary Edition’s original price will surely skyrocketed in a few years’ time.
