Malaysian motorists have taken to ‘X’  (formerly Twitter) earlier today with reports of a deadly plane crash on the road near the Elmina township in Shah Alam, Selangor.

At least one motorcyclist is believed to be amongst the on ground fatalities besides the occupants on the crashed flight. Eyewitnesses also report that there may be a car involved in the ensuing crash, but this remains unconfirmed at time of writing.

The incident, which occurred circa 3PM today, has led to parts of Persiaran Elmina, specifically the stretch adjacent to the Elmina Central Park heading towards the GCE turnoff, closed off by police and emergency responders.

According to Google Maps, the crash site sits roughly 5 KM away from the Subang Skypark airport's main runway.

A quick check on Waze at the time of writing indicates that said section of road remains closed off until further notice. Residents and motorists near the crash site are advised to use alternative routes. It remains unclear as to how long emergency responders might take to contain the crash site.

According to NST, the crashed aircraft is believed to be a small light jet, likely a private charter. Said aircraft reportedly took off from Langkawi at about 2:08PM today and was scheduled to touchdown at the Subang Skypark airport at 2:49PM with 6 passengers and 2 crew members onboard.

A quick check on Google Maps also revealed that the crash site sits roughly 5 KM away from the Subang Skypark airport’s main runaway. As authorities continue to contain the crash site, more details are expected in due time. We’ll have updates on this once authorities release more details.
