The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has announced a special RM10 flat rate promotion for selected parking and traffic fines that will run for a three-month period starting from October. This initiative coincides with MBSJ's third anniversary of achieving city status on October 20th.

Subang Jaya Mayor, Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim, shared details of the promotion, stating, "We are pleased to offer this RM10 flat rate for specific parking and traffic violations. The promotion will be in effect from October 1st to December 31st, and payments for these fines can be conveniently made through existing apps and online platforms, such as the Smart Selangor app."

With a few exceptions, the RM10 flat fee applies to a wide range of offences covered by the council's Road Transport (Parking Allocation) Order 2007. These exceptions include infractions involving car towing, the abuse of parking places reserved for people with disabilities, vehicle abandonment, and heavy vehicle blockage.

Mayor Mohd Fauzi stressed that this exceptional offer would be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and might not be repeated annually. The major purpose is to foster a law-abiding society by encouraging regulation compliance rather than depending on fine payment discounts. He delivered these statements after chairing MBSJ's full board meeting.

However we at CariCarz would argue that this is not the way to to foster compliance but a good way and fast way to gather funds.
