The rydeEV Experience Centre at Jalan Utara, PJS 11 Petaling Jaya, has been formally opened by Yinson GreenTech (YGT). rydeEV would be one of the region's largest e-bike leasing companies, providing Malaysian road users with swappable batteries.

The 8,000-square-foot experience centre would serve as a one-stop shop for everything rydeEV, YGT's micro-mobility division. Anyone may now visit this location to test ride e-bikes, learn about its breakthrough battery-swapping technology, enrol in cost-effective lease-to-own or leasing programmes, send e-bikes for servicing and repairs, and even buy rydeEV goods.

Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade & Industry (MITI), attended the launch event, which was hosted by Yinson Group Executive Chairman Mr. Lim Han Weng, Yinson Group Chief Executive Officer Mr. Lim Chern Yuan, and rydeEV Managing Director Mr. Syed Ahmad Faiz Syed Yusoff Fadzil.

Senator Tengku Zafrul Aziz emphasised, "Green mobility stands as a key priority within our recently unveiled New Industrial Master Plan 2030's net-zero mission. As Malaysia actively seeks investments in green tech innovations and solutions, we also strive to create opportunities for our SMEs, particularly through the development of an all-encompassing, low-carbon mobility ecosystem as outlined in our National Automotive Policy.”

He further added, “In this regard, rydeEV's affordable e-bikes perfectly align with our objectives, being both energy and cost-efficient, making them an immensely appealing, sustainable, and inclusive mobility solution for consumers ranging from corporates to SMEs and the general public."

Mr. Lim Han Weng added, "At Yinson, we firmly believe that the energy transition must be all-encompassing, meaning it should enhance the accessibility and affordability of green technologies for a wide audience. Southeast Asia boasts the world's highest per capita motorcycle ownership rates. Therefore, offering an economical, seamless alternative to existing solutions, supported by government policies, is crucial to the widespread adoption of green transportation and green technology solutions. Our goal is to eliminate barriers to EV adoption through rydeEV."

Mr. Syed Ahmad Faiz remarked, "We are delighted to officially launch the rydeEV Experience Centre, where visitors can immerse themselves in the future of micro-mobility and the convenience of our swappable battery technology. Since commencing operations in Malaysia, we have already installed swapping cabinets in 15 locations and partnered with several major corporations aiming to decarbonize their fleets. By December 2023, we aim to establish battery swapping stations at 100 strategic locations nationwide to alleviate range anxiety for bike users."

rydeEV provides two leasing options: business-to-business (B2B) leasing and lease-to-own. The monthly fee for B2B Leasing is RM299 for Ryder and RM499 for Hyper for 24 months, which includes unlimited swapping, maintenance, insurance, and road tax coverage. Meanwhile, Leasing to Own prices Ryder at RM299 for 36 months or RM250 for 48 months, and Hyper at RM430 for 36 months or RM339 for 48 months. After the lease-to-own time ends, customers merely need to pay RM1 to become the bike's owner. To plan their excursions ahead of time, users can use the Oyika App to easily identify battery swapping locations.
