Porsche celebrates its 75th anniversary with the eighth edition of Das Treffen in Thailand
Porsche is celebrating a slew of milestones this year, including both the brand’s 75th anniversary and the 60th anniversary of its most iconic model, the 911 sportscar. To celebrate these two momentous occasions, the Stuttgart-based automaker has put up a big birthday bash in Thailand in the form of the eighth edition of the Das Treffen, the largest gathering of Porsche sportscars in Asia.

Held concurrently with the 30th anniversary of Porsche Thailand, the event, titled ‘Friertag’, saw more than 600 classic and modern Porsche sportscars from all across Asia gather at the Impact Lakeside, Muang Thong Thani. With over 2,600 visitors flocked in, this also records the highest number of attendees throughout the eight series of Das Treffen, with the previous seventh edition organised earlier this year.

All seven colours of the limited-edition Porsche 911 Carrera GTS 30 Years of Porsche Thailand Edition were presented for the first time to the public
The main highlight at Das Treffen 8 for Porsche Thailand was an area titled “Dreams in Colours”, where the automaker lined up a special display of all seven limited-edition 911 Carrera GTS – 30 Years of Porsche Thailand Edition. For the first time ever shown in public, each of the seven models is coloured corresponding to each day of the week based on Thai culture.

Aside from the limited-edition Carrera GTS, Porsche Thailand also showcased the special 718 Spyder ‘000’ or ‘Triple Zero’ model for the first time in the Kingdom. Curated by the duo behind the infamous 000 Magazine, Pete Stout and Alex Palevsky, this special Spyder 000 boasts a package of specific exterior and interior design elements over its standard donor, creating a look perfect for unfiltered, open-top winding road driving.

Aside from those two, other special Porsche models displayed here include the 992-gen 911 GT3 with Manthey Racing performance parts, the Porsche 911 Dakar special edition, a dedicated AAS Motorsport section, and many more.

Commenting on this momentous occasion, Porsche Thailand MD Peter Rohwer said, "Throughout this marvellous 30th anniversary year, we are proud to have shown that Porsche has found its way into the hearts of the Thai people, and likewise, Thailand has found its way into the heart of Porsche. The celebrations wrap up at the largest-ever Das Treffen – a perfect reflection of the growing community of Porsche fans here in Thailand."
Yannick Ott, director of marketing for Porsche Asia Pacific, said, "Das Treffen always feels like a warm family reunion, one that we look forward to the entire year. It unites the community of enthusiasts from all over Southeast Asia and beyond; year after year, it is proof that passion for the Porsche brand knows no borders.”
"Therefore, even as we celebrate 75 years of Porsche sports cars, we put our cars in the spotlight, like the 60 years of our icon, the 911 – but we also tell the stories of the people and connections forged with the passion of Porsche," the Porsche AP exec added.
