Porsche Leipzi Chairman of the Management Board Gerd Rupp discusses the Panamera's and the Leipzig location's mutually reinforcing growth stories. Porsche made a big change in 2013 when they expanded the building to include a paint shop and body construction plant, turning it into a full factory and enabling in-house production.
With more than 4,400 workers, the Leipzig factory is currently a significant employer and financial driver in Central Germany. The success of the facility has been largely attributed to the team's commitment to overcoming obstacles.

Porsche's Leipzig location has developed into an electromobility hub, able to produce cars with combustion, electric, and hybrid powertrains on a single line, demonstrating the company's commitment to innovation.

Porsche has also announced the addition of a full-sized all-electric SUV to its lineup, as part of its goal of having 80% of all new vehicle sales be electric by 2030. The brand's EV lineup will soon be expanded with all-electric versions of the Cayman sports coupe and Macan compact SUV.
