MG Malaysia Website And Social Media Pages Now Online – Announcement Soon?
SAIC-owned British marque MG is set to enter Malaysia officially this year, likely as early as Q1.
By now we’re sure you’re up to speed about the SAIC-owned MG brand’s impending entry into the Malaysian market. As noted, the wheels for which are already in motion for a targeted debut sometime within the first quarter (Q1) of this year.
Today, further proof of which now exists online as it appears the Chinese-owned British marque has established its official Malaysian website, mgmalaysia.com. Along with that comes the establishment of its supporting social media handles too – namely Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.

As reported prior, parent company SAIC is breaking into the local Malaysian market independently starting with the MG brand - perhaps the most recognised name in its current portfolio of brands – through its newly established MG Malaysia (MGM) subsidiary.
Said subsidiary will be tasked at distributing the MG brand’s models locally, of which up to FOUR offerings are being planned. Two of which will be fully electric (EV) offerings, and an unnamed insider source has confirmed to CariCarz.com that the MG Cyberster flagship halo sportscar is amongst which.
The other EV set for introduction locally is the MG 4 crossover SUV, and this is poised to land first within Q1 too – the Cyberster mentioned will arrive much later in the year. This should see MG taking the fight directly up against the likes of the BYD Atto 3 and incoming Chery Omoda E5.
An insider source as confirmed to CariCarz.com that up to FOUR models are being planned, and it includes the MG HS C-segment SUV (left), as well as the MG Cyberster halo flagship EV roadster.
Apart from these EV offerings, MG Malaysia will also launch the MG HS C-segment combustion (ICE)-powered crossover SUV offering. The fourth model planned will be the upcoming new MG 3 compact crossover that’s set to make its global debut soon – sometime in the first half (1H) of this year.
Naturally, the MG 3 will come later in the year with the Cyberster, but the MG HS is poised to arrive within the third quarter (Q3) of this year. Our source further adds that final discussions are also underway to secure local assembly (CKD) operations for said model ahead of its planned launch.
Also set to enter the local EV space is the MG 4 crossover SUV offering that will rival against the likes of the BYD Atto 3 and upcoming Chery Omoda E5.
Clearly, the folks behind MG Malaysia (MGM) have done some serious groundwork ahead of officially debuting themselves. This is set to happen in the coming weeks, so we can expect at least an official announcement shortly after the upcoming Chinese New Year festive holidays.
Following which, we can also expect details of the brand’s sales and after-sales network to surface. At present, CariCarz.com has understood MGM has secured 18 of the planned 24 dealer partners the firm had initially planned for. More are set to be confirmed ahead of the brand’s official launch.
