- Launched: 2024 Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 4Matic – RM418,888
The refreshed 2024MY Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 4Matic was amongst three new offerings launched by MBM at its Mercedes-Benz World roadshow event earlier today.
Besides the new W206-gen Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance F1 Edition and face-lifted H247-gen Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 S 4Matic+, the face-lifted 2024 Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 4Matic was also launched officially by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) earlier today.
All three were launched as part of the Mercedes-Benz World roadshow event happening this week at the Sg. Besi Airbase, KL. Additionally, this flagship performance variant’s arrival effectively sees MBM complete its refresh of the X247 crossover model range locally.
The GLB 35 4Matic (X247) now joins its A35 Sedan (V177) and GLA 35 4Matic (H247) siblings locally, though it remains as the sole CBU offering amongst this trio.
Its arrival also sees MBM completely refresh its 35-series AMG performance models range locally. However, unlike the A35 sedan (V177) and GLA 35 crossover (H247) that are built locally (CKD) in Pekan, Pahang, the X247 GLB offshoot remains a fully imported (CBU) offering.
The 2024MY AMG-badged GLB 35 4Matic contains much of the changes seen in both the base GLB 200 and mid-specced GLB 250 4Matic variants that were just launched last week. Key amongst which is a switch to an updated 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbo petrol mill augmented by a new mild-hybrid (MHEV) system.
Output figures now read at 302 HP and 400 NM whilst the latter MHEV provides momentary boosts rated at 13 HP and 150 NM. Said mill is paired with an AMG-specific 8-speed DCT automatic box and all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup, which in turn allows 0-100 KM/ sprints in just 5.5 seconds.
Under the hood, the GLB 35 4Matic employs an updated 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbo MHEV heart outputting 302 HP and 400 NM. Slick 8--speed DCT and AWD setup paired with it sees 0-100 KM/H sprints done in 5.5 secs.
Key visual revisions include updated LED headlamps flanking a revised signature Panamericana grille, revised front bumper with updated intakes, updated taillights, as well as a lightly revised cabin featuring an updated dual-10.25-inch display module running the latest MBUX software.
Critically, unlike the lesser GLB 200 and GLB 250 4Matic variants that feature three-row seating for up to seven, the GLB 35 4Matic has just two-rows of seats for up to five. Said seats are also upholstered in Artico leather and Microcut microfibre combination.
Other notable features present in this performance flagship variant include the AMG Ride Control suspension the AMG Dynamic Select driving modes suite, polished aluminium roof rails, as well as AMG-specific five twin-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels and red-painted brake calipers.
Light visual tweaks are similar to what's seen in the lesser GLB 200 and GLB 250 4Matic launched just last week.

Unlike the GLB 200 and GLB 250 4Matic, the GLB 35 4Matic has just two-rows of seats instead of three, and they're wrapped in Artico leather and Microcut microfibre combination upholstery.
Apart from the AMG-specific bits detailed, much of the GLB 35 4Matic also shares similarly high-levels and count of basic equipment as seen in its lesser GLB 200 and GLB 250 4Matic siblings, especially on the safety and active driver assist (ADAS) fronts.
Obviously, the extra power and performance offered comes at a premium, and this 2024MY Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 4Matic commands a rather hefty price tag of RM418,888.
Orders are now open via authorised dealers and you can also view this sporty luxury compact crossover SUV in the flesh at the Mercedes-Benz World roadshow mentioned.
