Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad stated that Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co Ltd (Geely), a major investor in the Automotive High-Tech Valley (AHTV) project in Tanjung Malim, Perak, has submitted its masterplan to the state government of Perak.

The plan marks a significant step forward in the project’s development which was established in 2023 between Malaysia-based conglomerate DRB-Hicom and Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd to establish AHTV as Malaysia's international next generation vehicle hub by leveraging DRB-HICOM and Geely Holding's respective strengths and expertise.

Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad stated that the state government will review and potentially approve the plan, which will involve an investment of RM40 billion for AHTV in a meeting in September.
The minister added that any changes in Tesla Inc. factory plans in Thailand and expansion strategy in Southeast Asia will not impact Perak's focus on Geely's investment in the Automotive High-Tech Valley (AHTV) project.
