New Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Pro Motorsport Collectors Edition Special
The trackday-ready Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Pro 4Matic+ serves as the base for the latest addition to the three-point star's 'Motorsport Collectors Edition' series.
Apart from a manic new ‘Black Series’ special, you could say that the new second-gen Mercedes-AMG GT sports coupe line-up is now ‘complete’. That’s because the three-point star’s motorsports arm has devised their first limited-run special based on said model.
Announced just after revealing the special livery for its F1 car ahead of last weekend’s Singapore GP, the new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Pro 4Matic+ ‘Motorsport Collectors Edition’ was built to celebrate the marque’s efforts in said sport.
Based on the street-legal AMG GT 63 Pro trackday-ready variant, the Motorsport Collectors Edition comes dressed in a special livery inspired by the marque’s Petronas-sponsored F1 car used in the 2023 season – arguably one of its best liveries to date.
Obsidian Black metallic base paint gets offset with hand-painted three-point stars in the tail section, AMG Nite Package de-chromed touches, as well as distinct Petronas 'Aquamarine' highlights.
This explains the special’s choice of rocking a distinct Obsidian Black metallic base paint, matched with the AMG Nite Package that swaps chrome brightworks and accents for blacked-out ones. Adding some flair here are the hand-painted stars draped across its tail.
Surely, fans of the team and Malaysians loyal to oil and gas giants Petronas will appreciate the touches of latter’s signature ‘Aquamarine’ hue primed in the rear diffuser element, side skirts, front lip, front intakes, brake calipers, as well as both the window lines and front quarter panel shoulders.
More of said green highlights are present on board via the illuminated door sills, cabin ambient lighting, as well as the pipe-stitching for the pair of sports seats primed here wrapped in a combination of Nappa leather microfibre.
The Petronas 'Aquamarine' highlights continue on board, giving much-needed contrast to an otherwise stealthy blacked-out cabin motif.
Of course, all this racy style comes backed up by the AMG GT 63 Pro’s racy performance stemming from its sorted powertrain and chassis. As a refresher, the Pro packs an upgraded iteration of Mercedes-AMG’s signature hand-built 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo mill that outputs 603 HP and 849 NM.
Retained too is the Pro variant’s claimed 0-100 KM/H sprint time of 3.2 seconds, 317 KM/H claimed V-Max, as well as the Pro variant-specific massive rear wing and enhanced aerodynamic additions.
By the way, Mercedes-AMG confirmed that just 200 units of the AMG GT 63 Pro 4Matic+ Motorsport Collectors Edition will be built. The firm didn’t disclose any pricing details, but we’re almost certain all are spoken for already…
