- MG Cyberster EV Now Open for Booking – RM350,000 Est
Order books for the upcoming MG Cyberster EV have now been opened with a tentative ceiling price of RM350,000.
Following its initial preview a few months ago, SAIC Motor Malaysia (MG Motor Malaysia) has finally opened the order books for the much-anticipated MG Cyberster EV. This all-electric roadster is slated for launch later this year with a tentative ceiling price of RM350,000.
Malaysians can only get the MG Cyberster in its top-spec AWD form, featuring up to 503 PS and 725 NM.
For the Malaysian market, the Cyberster will be available in a single top-spec variant that features a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) setup rated at up to 503 PS (375 kW) and a maximum torque of 725 NM. This setup enables the compact EV roadster to blast from 0-100 KM/H in just 3.2 seconds en route to its electronically-limited V-Max of 201 KM/H.
Battery-wise, the MG Cyberster AWD is juiced by a sizable 77-kWh battery pack, which grants it up to 446 KM of WLTP range. This pack supports both AC 7 kW and DC 150 kW charging methods, with the former seeing a 10-100% charge completed in about 10.5 hours, while the latter achieving a 10-80% state-of-charge in just 38 minutes.
In terms of design, the MG Cyberster gets a pretty stylish roadster bodystyle featuring a broad and low-profile silhouette with a soft-top retractable roof and a pair of powered scissor doors. Some key design features primed here include its stylish LED headlights, Union Jack-themed LED taillights, a split lower air intake, 20-inch ‘Jetstream’ alloy wheels with red-hued Brembo brake callipers hiding beneath them, and many more.
Elsewhere, four exterior colourways will be offered for the Malaysian-spec MG Cyberster, namely Dynamic Red, Camden Grey, Inca Yellow, and English White, with the former two options featuring a black-and-red interior finish, while the latter two getting an all-grey interior instead.
On board, the MG Cyberster boasts a pretty respectable level of luxury, thanks to the many comfort and tech amenities primed here. This includes a 7-inch infotainment display, a larger 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster flanked by two 7-inch auxiliary screens, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, plush leather upholstery with Alcantara inserts, and a Nappa leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Safety specs are also not too shabby on the Cyberster, as the EV roadster comes standard with the MG Pilot active safety system suite, which adds ADAS functions like Front Collision Warning (FCW) and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) (with pedestrian and bicycle detection), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Traffic Jam Assistance (TJA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assistance (LKA), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Lane Change Assist (LCA), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and Intelligent High Beam Assist.
Those who are keen to size up the all-new MG Cyberster can visit the Auto Car Expo (ACE) 2024 on Oct 26 and 27 at Setia City Convention Centre, where this sporty EV roadster will make its first public debut alongside other MG Malaysia models such as the MG5 sedan, MG4 EV, MG ZS EV SUV, as well as the upcoming MG HS SUV.
