- JPJ Recalls 5 Perodua Models, Honda Bike
3,722 vehicles, including Perodua Alza and Aruz models and Honda CB350RS motorcycles, are being recalled by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) due to technical issues. JPJ director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli stated that the recall affected 1,139 Perodua Aruz 1500 X and 1500 AV units, as well as 2,518 Perodua Alza 1500 X CVT, 1500 H CVT, and 1500 AV CVT units, because the main headlights did not adhere to height specification requirements. Additionally, 65 Honda CB350RS motorcycles were also recalled due to problems with the wheel speed sensor, which resulted in inaccurate speedometer readings, the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), and traction control.
The manufacturers will replace the defective parts at their own expense, Aedy said, urging owners of the aforementioned models to have their cars inspected as soon as possible.
“Any component affected by these issues will be replaced, with costs covered by Perodua Manufacturing Sdn Bhd and Boon Siew Honda Sdn Bhd.
“Each affected vehicle owner will be contacted by Perodua and Boon Siew Honda to schedule an inspection, or they may also walk in to the nearest service centre across the country,” he said.
For more information, Alza and Aruz owners can contact Perodua at 1-800-88-6600 or visit https://www.ufirst.com.my/member/login or via the U-First app. Owners of the Honda CB350RS models can contact Boon Siew Honda at 1-800-88-3993 or visit https://boonsiewhonda.com.my/after-sales/recall-campaign/.
