Subaru Heads to TAS 2025 with Purple BRZ and STI Specials
Leading Subaru’s model lineup at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon 2025 is a special BRZ STI Sport Purple Edition.
As we approach the end of 2024, the hype has finally started for the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon 2025 (TAS 2025), as more automakers are now gearing towards it. Joining the list of Japanese car brands in announcing its model lineup for the upcoming show is Subaru, where the new BRZ STI Sport Purple Edition is set to lead the whole STI pack.
What makes the BRZ STI Sport Purple Edition special from other BRZ STI Sport models is the unique Galaxy Purple Pearl hue it comes with, which is accented with a slew of contrasting black parts. Although no photos were shown, Subaru claims the BRZ Purple Edition will have a pretty “sophisticated” cabin space brimmed with silver and grey accents.
2025 Subaru BRZ Series.Purple unveiled in the US earlier this year.
With that being said, it seems like the BRZ STI Sport Purple Edition shares a lot of resemblance to the BRZ Series.Purple launched in the US a few months back. Just like its upcoming Japanese twin, the BRZ Series.Purple is also finished in the Galaxy Purple Pearl colourway, while riding on satin silver-hued 18-inch wheels.
Not to forget, given that the BRZ Series.Purple is only limited to 500 units in North America, each priced at $35,445 (RM159,210), perhaps we can expect Subaru to do the same for the BRZ STI Sport Purple Edition.
Besides the BRZ STI Sport Purple Edition, Subaru is also poised to feature several special editions equipped with STI performance parts. This includes the WRX S4 STI Sport R-Black Limited and the Levorg Layback Black Selection, to name a few. And as their names suggest, these models are decked in several gloss black-hued trims and accents, plus the obvious STI makeovers in the form of both performance and cosmetic parts.
Last but not least, no TAS 2025 lineup is complete without the display of a few race cars and concepts, which includes the likes of the BRZ GT300, the WRX NBR Challenge 2025, and the High Performance x Future concept. They’ll be joined by displays of STI performance parts and merchandise that can be purchased on the spot.
The Tokyo Auto Salon 2025 is slated to take place from Jan 10 to 12, 2025, at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. Besides Subaru, we can expect more Japanese automakers to announce their showcase lineup as we get closer to the official launch date.
