Subaru BRZ Seres.Purple Edition Sees Just 500 Units Offered In North America

Subaru launched a new special edition version of its BRZ sports coupe in North America this week called the Seres.Purple.
Subaru saw its North American arm – arguably its single largest and most profitable market – introduce a new special edition version of its BRZ sports coupe. Christened as the BRZ Seres.Purple, it sports a special aesthetic treatment plus a handful of STI-branded upgraded parts.
As the name aptly suggests, the Seres.Purple special sees the BRZ dressed in a special Galaxy Purple Pearl exterior paintwork. Offsetting which are a set of 18-inch wheels finished in satin silver and shod in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres.
On board, the cabin is also fashioned with contrast gray stitiching in the steering wheel, door cards and shifter boot. Additionally, this special’s innards also gains STI badges on the starter button and shifter knob.

For its exterior, this special dons a unique Galaxy Purple Pearl paint plus satin silver-finished 18-inch alloy wheels.

On board, this special also rocks a unique contrast stithcing motif in gray. It also gains a number of added goodies and luxuries.
Under the hood, the Seres.Purple retains the stock BRZ’s 2.4-litre ‘boxer’ 4cyl mill, so it also sees unchanged outputs of 228 HP and 250 NM to drive its rear wheels. Notably, this special is offered exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission only.
The transmission choice, along with the slew of chassis upgrades, signals that this special is meant for driving enthusiasts exclusively. Highlights of the latter include a newly added STI-designed flexible V-bars in the engine bay, and an STI short-throw shifter.

Notably, the Seres.Purple special is offered exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmisison only.
Performance goodies aside, the Seres.Purple also gains several added luxuries. Key amongst which includes heated exterior mirrors, a higher-end audio system for the cabin, along with blind-spot detection, lane-keep assist, and steering-responsive headlights.
For now, the Subaru BRZ Seres.Purple special is offered solely in the North American market, and just 500 units available, each tagged at US$36,615 (approx. RM159,352) – just US$1,700 (RM7,399) more than the equivalent BRZ Limited that Subaru markets there.
