Subaru BRZ & WRX Kuala Lumpur Editions Unveiled – On Sale At TASKL 2024

TC Subaru has unveiled the special BRZ & WRX Kuala Lumpur Editions ahead of their entry at the TASKL 2024.
TC Subaru Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Subaru vehicles in Malaysia, is slated to make its entry in the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur (TASKL) 2024 show later this month with two special models, namely the Subaru BRZ and WRX Kuala Lumpur Editions.

In a bid to celebrate the traditional Malaysian craftsmanship, both the special BRZ and WRX feature a special livery inspired by the traditional Malaysian songket print, complemented by several unique geometric shapes. Further adding the Malaysian homage to this special livery is the presence of the national flower, the bunga raya (hibiscus), which is showcased on both sides of the two cars.

To go along with these special models, TC Subaru also collaborated with renowned homegrown clothing label Pestle & Mortar Clothing (PMC) to create an exclusive collection of streetwear for the upcoming TASKL 2024. This whole collection features a blend of Japanese and Malaysian street cultures, with both the BRZ and WRX being the centerpieces.
Additionally, the company also announced that it recently hosted a time attack challenge with both the BRZ and WRX at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit (SIC) recently with the support of TD Racing. With professional racing driver Freddie Ang behind the wheel, the stock BRZ with a six-speed manual managed to set an impressive lap time of 2:42:211 minutes, while the WRX with a CVT automatic gearbox clocked 2:43:472 minutes around the SIC full track.
“This project showcases our commitment to highlighting the capabilities of our cars and what we can achieve together with the help and support of our community. It’s a blend of passion, creativity, and camaraderie that we aim to build for Subaru,” TC Subaru said in its official statement.

These two special Subaru BRZ and WRX Kuala Lumpur Editions will be displayed at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur 2024, which will take place at the Malaysian International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) from 8 to 10 November 2024. More importantly, these two cars will also be made available for sale at the event, although no indicative prices were given by TC Subaru for now.
For reference, the Subaru BRZ currently retails at RM268,500 for both the 6MT and 6AT variants, while the Subaru WRX is tagged higher at RM289,500.
