- KTMB Introduces Special “Excursion” Train Service For CNY

In observance of the forthcoming Chinese New Year Celebration, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) has launched a special "excursion" train service that will run on January 27 and 28.
In a statement, the train operator said that 792 tickets would be available for two special round-trip trains that connect Butterworth station and KL Sentral station.
The special train tickets, meant to accommodate the demands of travellers heading north during the Chinese New Year celebration and school holidays, will go on sale on January 21 at 10 a.m. The one-way ticket for this route starts at RM60 for superior class seats and RM90 for premier class.

“Passengers will enjoy a unique experience through the buffet coach and chillax coach facilities, which will be provided to ensure a more relaxing and enjoyable journey,” KTMB says.
The special train will depart from KL Sentral and stop at seven stations, including Tanjung Malim, Kampar, Batu Gajah, Ipoh, Kuala Kangsar, Taiping, and Bukit Mertajam, before arriving at Butterworth.
Cashless tickets can be bought from the KTMB mobile application (KITS), kiosk machines, ticket counters, and the KTMB's official website.
