Leapmotor Shifted Over 293,00 Units In 2024, Eyes 500,000 Units For 2025
Though a relative newcomer in many markets overseas, China's Leapmotor still raked in healthy sales in 2024.
Though a relative newcomer in many global markets – Malaysia included – in 2024, China’s Leapmotor marque charted a rather respectable sales figure last year.
In a press release issued earlier this week, the marque revealed that it closed 2024 by charting a total sales volume of 293,724 units. In turn, this effort solidifies Leapmotor’s position amongst China’s top new energy vehicle (NEV) brands.
Boosting said figure was a domestic Chinese home market sales surge, which saw 42,517 units shifted in Dec 2024 alone to mark a massive 128% year-on-year (YoY) increase. This also sees the brand rank third amongst NEV startups from the past decade, and seventh amongst all Chinese NEV brands in terms of sales.
Leapmotor sold 293,724 units in 2024, much of which boosted by a sales surge in in Chinese home market. Globally, the brand secured 410 sales points and took in over 31,65 orders altogether too.
Globally, 2024 saw Leapmotor rapidly expand its brand presence as well. The marque ended 2024 having secured 410 sales points and garnering over 3,165 customer orders as well.
Overseas, leapmotor is marketed through Leapmotor International, a 51:49 joint venture established back in Oct 2023 with global automaking giants Stellantis. Since its formation, the Leapmotor brand is now present in over 25 international markets.
With the global reach provided by partners Stellantis, Leapmotor International seeks to increase its total sales up to 500,000 units in 2025. Key to this is of course the Leapmotor C10 EV SUV model, which is exported to almost all of Leapmotor’s overseas markets.

Locally, the Leapmotor C10 was launched back in Oct 2023 with just one variant on offer known as ‘Design’. This D-segment-sized EV SUV packs a 69.9 kWh LFP battery pack juicing a rear e-motor outputting 218 PS and 320 NM. It also boasts a claimed WLTP max range of 424 KM.
Currently, the Leapmotor C10 carries an RRP of RM159,000. At launch, a special RM10,000 rebate was offered for bookings placed before Nov 30, 2024. Said rebate returns this month as part of Stellatis Malaysia’s festive Chinese New Year sales campaign.
