Renowned German sportscar marque Porsche enters the New Year with yet another revised variant of its upgraded 992.2-generation 911 sportscar model.

Now available in 2025MY guise is the Porsche 911 Carrera S, and it sees a slew of minor and some major changes in its latest model year guise.

New for 2025, the updated Porsche 911 Carrera S boasts more power, enhanced agility, and a slew of minor improvements all around.

Slotted above the Carrera T and below the new, electrified 911 GTS T-Hybrid, Porsche says the new Carrera S matches the previous GTS guise in terms of performance. Much of this stems from the heightened output of its signature rear-mounted ‘boxer’ flat six-cylinder powertrain.

Said 3.0-litre turbocharged mill gains new turbochargers and an “extensively optimised” cooling system that bumps power from 444 HP previously to 473 HP now. That plus 530 NM of twist goes to the rear wheels exclusively through Porsche’s signature 8-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic.

The 2025MY revision does see the Carrera S losing out on a manual transmission option, meaning this guise is now PDK-only.

The 2025MY revision sees the 911 Carrera S losing its 7-speed manual transmission option. Nevertheless, the slick PDK box mentioned earlier does see quicker 0-100 KM/H sprint times of 3.3 secs and a V-max of 308 KM/H – evidently, this is a quicker Carrera S than before.

Part of the changes also see the Carrera S gaining even more standard kit all around. Highlights include staggered 20-inch (front) and 21-inch (rear) bespoke alloy wheels, sport exhaust system with stylish silver tips, as well as the Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus suite.

Part of the new kit primed include new staggered 20- and 21-inch wheels, sport exhaust, and the Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus suite.

Besides that comes beefed up anchors in the form of larger 408 MM front and 380 MM rotors lifted from the GTS Hybrid variant. Naturally, Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes (PCCB) remains available as a cost-option, alongside a 10 MM lower sport suspension pack.

Porsche further detailed that the latter option’s optimised hydraulic dampers provide more precise responses, whilst adjustments to the steering now make the coupe “more direct” in corners. In short, the uprated Carrera S guise of the 992.2-gen 911 isn’t just quicker, it also more agile now.

On board, revisions to the cabin are both few and almost unnoticeable, in fact.

As for visual changes, the 2025MY 911 Carrera S also gains some mild styling tweaks. New and wider rear arches with integrated intakes lifted form the 911 Turbo model is the most visible of changes with the exterior, and it has translated a more aggressive new stance.

Moving into the cabin and, mirroring what’s seen in other 992.2-gen guises, there aren’t any drastic changes performed here, though customers can optionally elect to have the glovebox, side panels and seat base all upholstered leather now.

Styling tweaks are mild too, thought the 2025MY 911 Carrera S does now boast wider rear arches with integrated vents lifted from the 911 Turbo.

Like before, the 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera S comes in both hard-top Coupe and soft-top Cabriolet choices, and orders for which are now open in key European markets, as well as North America.

Sales in other market regions are expected follow suit soon too.
