World's largest automaker Toyota Motor , reported a significant increase in its global production for January. The company announced on Thursday that its output reached 781,729 vehicles, marking a 5.6% rise from the previous year and the first increase in 12 months.

This figure also represents the highest monthly production total ever achieved by Toyota.

The increase in production comes as good news for the automotive giant, which had been grappling with supply chain disruptions and other challenges in recent months.

In addition to the production increase, Toyota also reported strong sales figures for January. The company sold 785,632 vehicles worldwide, which was an all-time high for the month and a 0.1% increase from the same month the previous year.

The Toyota group, which encompasses its small-car manufacturing division, Daihatsu Motor Co., faced significant disruptions to its domestic production in Japan last year caused by controversies surrounding safety testing procedures, leading to a temporary halt in some of its manufacturing operations.

Despite the setback, the firm persevered and global production rebounded remarkably. Domestic production increased 22.3 percent, resulting in 265,999 automobiles. This more than compensated for the 1.4 percent decrease in foreign output to 515,730 vehicles.
