The Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (DASH) has seen another tragic fatality, following the first recorded incident on the highway back in 2022. In the recent accident, a 30-year-old female motorcyclist lost her life after being thrown from the elevated highway to the ground below, at about 6.50pm on Tuesday (Feb 25).
The specifics of the accident are still under investigation, but preliminary reports suggest that the motorcyclist may have lost control of her vehicle, leading to the fatal fall, according to Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Shahrulnizam Ja'afar.

"Investigations found that the victim, a 30-year-old local woman, was riding a motorcycle when she is believed to have lost control while navigating a bend.
"Her motorcycle then grazed a car in front before she was thrown off the flyover from an estimated height of 30 to 35 metres," he said in a statement today.
The incident has sparked widespread public outrage surrounding the safety standards of the DASH highway, with some advocating for the installation of higher barriers and other safety enhancements to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
Others maintain that responsible driving practices are the key to ensuring safety on the road, and that infrastructure improvements alone cannot guarantee accident prevention.
