Zeekr 9X Grand Revealed in China as Brand’s Flagship SUV
Zeekr has finally revealed its first flagship SUV model in China, known as the Zeekr 9X Grand.
Zeekr has an entirely new model under its arm, and it is known as the Zeekr 9X Grand. Described as “the world-class ultra-luxury flagship SUV,” the new 9X Grand will not only be the brand’s first flagship SUV but also the first for Geely Group as a whole.
From the official images published by Zeekr, we can see that the camo-wrapped 9X Grand gets a pretty conventional boxy SUV bodystyle, featuring a high beltline and sturdy proportions. Due to the heavy camouflage, there’s not much that can be seen on the front part of this flagship SUV, except for the dual-stack LED headlights with a blocky design, an enclosed front grille, and the roof-mounted LiDAR unit.
Moving on to the next photo, we can see that the 9X Grand gets a pretty familiar silhouette, where both its long roofline and slanting D-pillars give Rolls Royce Cullinan vibes. Also present here are flushed door handles and a fuel cap in the rear left pillar, while the whole SUV rides on a pretty sizable set of wheels, possibly measuring at least 20 inches.
Given its flagship status and similarities with the Zeekr 009 EV MPV, we can expect the new 9X Grand to be a pretty big SUV, possibly spanning over five metres long.
To go along with these teaser images, Zeekr has also published a short teaser video, showcasing the 9X Grand doing some off-road actions in snowy conditions. Although no detailed specifications were given for now, this video suggests that we can expect some real off-road performance from this seemingly ultra-luxury SUV.
CarNewsChina reports that the new Zeekr 9X Grand will be solely available with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain setup, where it will adopt the Zeekr Super Hybrid System, which is essentially a reworked version of Geely’s Thor PHEV system. As detailed prior, the Thor PHEV system uses a 1.5-litre 4-cyl nat-asp petrol engine rated at 110 HP as a base, which is mated to an 11-in-1 electric drive unit and an Aegis LFP battery pack.
We can expect to learn more about the new Zeekr 9X Grand as we get closer to its official market entry date, which will take place sometime in Q3 this year. Before that, however, CarNewsChina reported that the 9X Grand might be making its inaugural debut at the upcoming Auto Shanghai 2025 motor show, which will take place in late April.
