KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit train services have experienced significant disruptions due to cable theft and a signaling failure, according to Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL).

The first incident happened on April 8 at 6.20 a.m. at KM48.5 between Salak Tinggi Station and KLIA Terminal 1. Consequently, Express Rail Link (ERL) implemented a combined train service shortly before 7:00 a.m.

A shuttle service was also initiated to mitigate disruptions during the morning peak period. Full operational status was reinstated by 10:00 a.m.

Subsequent to the initial incident, delays of up to ten minutes were experienced later in the evening. These disruptions were attributable to a second instance of cable theft occurring at kilometer 43.1, located between Salak Tinggi Station and Putrajaya & Cyberjaya.

A secondary signal malfunction occurred at Bandar Tasik Selatan Station at 9:57 p.m., resulting in the suspension of all train operations. Subsequently, a shuttle service was implemented between Putrajaya and Cyberjaya and KLIA Terminal 2, with departures scheduled every 20 minutes.

On April 9th, two instances of cable theft were reported during the early morning. The first incident occurred at kilometer marker 47.2 at 04:47, and the second at kilometer marker 40.6 at 05:20. To maintain connectivity between essential stations, shuttle services were immediately reintroduced with a scheduled frequency of every 20 minutes.

“Our team is currently working around the clock to restore full service. We understand the impact these disruptions have had on our passengers, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience or delays caused,” ERL said in a statement.

Passengers are encouraged to check social media for service updates and may request refunds via email. _KEL6681-(1).jpg
