KLIA Aerotrain Will Return In Q2 2025, MAHB Confirms

Kuala Lumpur International Airport's aerotrain service is anticipated to start operating again by the second quarter of this year, with all system testing scheduled to be finished by April, according to Izani Ghani, managing director of Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd.
Transport Minister Loke Siew Fook recently voiced his disappointment with MAHB, pointing to inefficiencies and hold-ups in tackling important issues like the KLIA aerotrain replacement project.
While the aerotrain is under MAHB's jurisdiction, Loke claimed that he has been receiving daily complaints about the service since it was suspended in March 2023.
Last June, MAHB announced that the KLIA aerotrain replacement project would be completed by January 31 of this year, ahead of the original schedule. However, Izani acknowledged that MAHB will not meet the deadline, as meeting technical requirements can sometimes cause delays in the process.

According to MAHB, a contract between Malaysia Airports (Sepang) Sdn Bhd and a joint venture made up of IJM Construction Sdn Bhd and Pestech Technology Sdn Bhd was signed on June 14, 2024, resulting in a two-month extension of the initial completion date of March 31, 2025.
