- ASEAN 2025: KLIA Ekspres, Transit Steps Up Services
In conjunction with the 47th ASEAN Summit 2025, KLIA Ekspres and Transit services are ramping up frequency between Oct 22–28.
The train will run every 15 minutes from 9AM to 9PM, and every 20 minutes outside those hours, while the Transit adds a 1AM service from KLIA2 to KL Sentral.
The move comes as authorities prepare for major road closures and traffic diversions from Oct 26-28.
Expect rolling closures lasting 30-45 minutes on six highways and 25 key city roads to clear the way for official motorcades.
Affected highways include the ELITE, NKVE, Guthrie Corridor Expressway, North-South Expressway, MEX, and KL–Seremban Expressway. In KL, routes like Jalan Tun Abdul Razak, Jalan Ampang, Jalan Bukit Bintang, Jalan Sultan Ismail, and Jalan Parlimen will also be intermittently closed.
A full motorcade rehearsal is ongoing until Oct 24, covering routes from KLIA’s Bunga Raya Complex to Subang Air Base, major hotels, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, and Seri Negara.
With heavy traffic expected, the public is urged to plan ahead or better yet, take the train.
