- Cops Tracking Down Driver Involved in Hit-And-Run Near Menora Tunnel
Police are investigating a tragic hit-and-run near the Menora Tunnel on the North-South Expressway (PLUS) that killed a pregnant mother and her young kid. Noor Hisam Nordin, the Perak police chief, has indicated that law enforcement is actively looking for the driver of a multifunctional vehicle suspected of causing the crash.
Furthermore, the deceased's personal things were allegedly stolen during the incident, according to Sinar Harian.
Around 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, a car driven by 29-year-old Abdul Rahman Abdul Rahim lost control and swerved at the 264.4-kilometer point on the southbound route.
Naira Falisha, his two-year-old daughter, tragically passed away instantly after being flung from the car. The next day, while undergoing medical care, his wife, Nur Fatihah Badrul Hisham, 25, who was also thrown out, passed away from the injuries she sustained.
A dash camera video that has gone viral appears to show Nur Fatihah being run over by an MPV that was unable to stop in time. The driver fled the scene, and a family member has turned to social media for help locating the driver.
The case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act of 1987.
Police urge anyone with information on this case, including dashcam footage that could help the investigation, to call investigating officer Inspector Mohamad Faiz Abdul Khalim at 018-372 8477.
