One of two new models teased prior, the new second-gen (F74) BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe made its local debut earlier today during My BMW World 2025.

One of two brand new models teased ahead of My BMW World 2025 this week, the all-new second-generation (chassis code: F74) BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe made its official local debut today during the expo’s special press preview.
As reported, BMW did not grant the F44-gen predecessor a facelift or ‘LCI’ refresh, choosing instead for an all-new generation build. This explains the slight size growth masked by its familiar yet sleek design, but the 2,670 MM wheelbase figure remains.
We’ve detailed much of these critical changes at the model’s chassis level in our past report, which you can read up on by clicking here.

Locally, the new 2 Series GC continues to be localised (CKD) and offered in 218i Gran Coupe Sport guise.

Locally, the 2 Series Gran Coupe continues to be locally assembled (CKD) and offered solely in 218i Gran Coupe Sport guise. This brings 18-inch dual-tone wheels, as well as both satin aluminium and gloss black exterior accents.
Like its predecessor, this new F74-gen successor is mechanically identical as it continues to harness a 1.5-litre 3-cyl turbo petrol heart mated with a 7-speed DCT automatic box. The former drives the front wheels via the latter with 156 HP and 230 NM.
Altogether, the new 218i Gran Coupe Sport sees its powertrain enable it to despatch the century sprint in just 8.6 secs before topping out at 230 KM/H.
Under the hood, the 218i Gran Coupe Sport harnesses a familiar 1.5-litre 3-cyl turbo petrol lump that powers the front wheels with 156 HP and 230 NM.

On board, the new second-gen BMW 218i Gran Coupe Sport sees its cabin refreshed with both an updated and new curved display module housing a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and 10.7-inch infotainment interface powered by the BMW Operating System 9.
Brimmed here too is a “Illuminated” Aluminium Graphite trim, ambient lighting, and sustainable Veganza perforated upholstery. Notable here too is the redesigned centre console housing a wireless charger, dual cup holders, and an intuitive storage bin.

On board, the centre console has been redesigned. The cabin also comes solely in black.

As for driving assistances, the 218i Gran Coupe Sport gets both Driving Assistant and Parking Assistance suites brimmed as standard. Together, both brings a raft of semi-autonomous driving and parking abilities bolstering both safety and convenience.
Another notable tech brimmed here is the BMW Digital Key Plus suite which enables uses to use their smartphone as digital vehicle key.
As for colours, three exterior hues - Alpine White, Black Sapphire, and Cape York Green – are available, all paired with the cabin’s sole black Verganza Perforated upholstery.

Inclusive of a 5-year extended warranty and service package, the new BMW 218i Gran Coupe Sport is now opened for bookings with an estimated price tag of RM241,000.

Lastly, price, and BMW Group Malaysia announced an estimated price tag of RM241,000 for the new 2025 BMW 218i Gran Coupe Sport. Final price schemes will be revealed later, but the firm notes said figure includes a 5-year extended warranty and service package.
Like before, the 218i Gran Coupe continues to be the most affordable four-door saloon on offer from House Bavaria – it’s starts RM49,000 lower than the refreshed and larger-sized 2025MY 3 Series range that was also unveiled alongside it today.
More on the latter as well as other new models launched at My BMW World 2025 here, shortly.
