- KTMB’s MyRailLife Pass Clocked Over 628,000 Free Rides
More than 628,000 journeys have been made this year using KTMB’s MyRailLife Pass, a scheme giving students and persons with disabilities (PWDs) unlimited free rides on KTM Komuter routes.
The number marks a sharp jump from 387,601 trips in 2023, and with over 302,000 users recorded by July, KTMB expects the figure to keep climbing.
Most users are on northern routes, but the pass is valid across Klang Valley, the north, and the Eastern Shuttle from Gemas to Tumpat.
“It’s not just for school runs. They can explore new places, visit tourist spots and gain experiences, all without paying a fare," said KTMB senior operations manager Mohd Azhar Abu Bakar.
KTMB hopes its “Komuter to School” campaign, complete with school visits, mobile registrations and tourism partnerships will push the figure even higher.
One collaboration links the pass to A’Famosa Safari Wonderland, providing train travel to Pulau Sebang and a shuttle to the park.
For teacher Abdul Halim, it’s a relief for families’ budgets. Student S. Logender says it’s even simpler.
“My RM8 return trips to Tampin now cost nothing. It’s been great.”
