- Launched: 2025 Chery O5 – 1 Variant Now, Upgraded Specs, RM116,800
Revealed earlier today, the Chery Omoda 5 has been refreshed as the 2025 Chery O5 now.

The Chery Omoda 5 has been refreshed as the new 2025 Chery O5. Revealed earlier today in the heart of Kuala Lumpur city, the popular B-SUV offering from China’s top auto exporter has been beefed up significantly inside and out.
Firstly, some housekeeping. Unlike the pre-facelift Omoda 5, the refreshed model has been renamed as the ‘Omoda O5’ now. Secondly, the model’s range has been streamlined to just one single variant now – the fully-loaded ‘H’ grade.
Like before, the revised new Omoda O5 continues to be locally assembled (CKD) by Inokom at its main plant in Kulim, Kedah.

The revised 2025MY version brings a host of exterior changes like the new 'pixel' grille, revised front bumper, gloss black 18-inch wheels, updated LED DRLs, and a new roof-mounted rear spoiler.

On to the changes and, visually, the new O5 is easily set apart by its revised LED DRL ‘brows’, followed by its striking new ‘pixel’ grille and renewed front bumper designs. New too are the gloss black 18-inch wheels plus the roof-mounted rear spoiler.
Whilst on the exterior still, eagle-eyed observers will also notice that Chery has deleted the red accents that the pre-facelift model was decked out with. Otherwise, this refreshed Omoda O5 retains the same basic silhouette as before.

Though it appears largely unchanged, the cabin of the 2025 Chery O5 sports a slew of minor tweaks all-around.

Moving into the cabin and things appears largely unchanged here. There are loads of minor tweaks like the new frameless rear-view mirror, monotone black cabin and door trims, as well as an upgraded ‘dual temperature light make-up mirror sun visor’.
Otherwise, the O5 continues to offer a massive 20.5-inch dual digital display (instrumentation and infotainment), wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Sony 8-speaker audio suite, 15-watt wireless charging pad, and 64-colour ambient lighting.
One critical change is the enlarged standard boot space. There's a 70-litre bump to 442 litres now, and that before folding the rear seats.

Retained too is the plush faux leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control with rear vent, sunroof and powered tailgate function. Additionally, standard boot space has increased by 70 litres to 442 litres thanks to a lowered boot floor.
Moving to the mechanical changes, the 1.5-litre 4-cyl turbo petrol mill remains, offering 156 PS and 230 Nm. Updated here is the offer of with three selectable drive modes now – Eco, Normal and Sport.
Critically, said mill is now paired with a brand new 6-speed DCT automatic box replacing the pre-facelift version’s 9-speed CVT unit. The new transmission promises quicker shifts plus enhanced torque delivery, claims the Chinese automaker.

Mechanically, there's now a new 6-speed DCT gearbox replacing the pre-facelift model's CVT unit. Retained though is the 1.5-litre 4-cyl petrol mill.

Another critical change is the switch from torsion beam to a multi-link setup in the rear suspenison.

Another critical change is the switch from torsion beam to a multi-link setup in the rear suspenison.
The mechanical changes continue at chassis level too and, arguably, the most critical change here is the switch from torsion beam to a multi-link setup for the rear suspension. This also likely explains how Chery expanded the standard boot space noted earlier.
Moving on to safety, six airbags continue to line the cabin as before. Chery also ensured this mid-cycle refresh continues to see a barrage of advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) features present, altogether yielding Level 2 semi-autonomous driving abilities.
Key highlights include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Intelligent Speed Assist (ISA) and Speed Control Assist (SCA), lane departure warning and prevention (LDW & LDP), forward collision warning (FCW) with autonomous emergency braking (AEB), and more.

As for price, Chery Malaysia announced a figure of RM116,800. The firm also announced a comprehensive after-sales package plus a special 'launch package' that's on offer for a limited time.

Lastly, price and, with the range whittled down to just a single variant now, the 2025 Chery O5 commands RM116,800. Included in said price is a 7-year or 150,000 km warranty coverage with 24/7 roadside assistance package.
Besides price, Chery Malaysia also announced a special 'Launch Package'. Offered for a limited time only, this offer rewards early bird customers with firstly a 10-year or 1,000,000 km engine warranty, followed by a 3-year all-inclusive service package.
Included too is a special financing deal from Maybank that offers monthly rates as low as RM990. Check out more images of the 2025 Chery O5 in the gallery prepared below.
