- Petron Lubricants Gains SIRIM Certification & Label

With the Oct 7, 2025 deadline for the mandatory SIRIM genuine product licencing certification for engine lubricants and engine oil products looming closer, Petron Malaysia (Petron) becomes the latest in this space earn which.
The firm revealed which via a press release issued earlier today, confirming its core lubricants products are now certified under the now mandatory SIRIM 58 Standard – Certification Scheme for Genuine Product (Engine Oil for Motor Vehicles).
In turn, products like the Petron Blaze Racing passenger cars engine lubricants, Petron Rev-X commercial and diesel vehicles lubricants, both Petron Rider 4T and Petron 2T motorcycle lubricants, series plus its Super Tractor Universal Oil (STOU), will all bear SIRIM stickers soon.
Key products like the firm's range of Petron Blaze Racing passenger car lubricants (pictured) will soon bear SIRIM stickers to reflect their authenticity.

To mark this, Petron Malaysia held a small presentation ceremony was at its headquarters in Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur led by Azmi Musa, Senior General Manager, Testing Services Department of SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd.
"Petron is proud to have been awarded the SIRIM Genuine Product License which reinforces the quality, authenticity and reliability of our engine oils,” shared Mohd Asri Ibrahim, Petron Malaysia’s head of commercial business, who was also present at the ceremony noted.
Petron Malaysia marked the occasion through a small ceremony held recently at its headquarters in Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur.

As a refresher, this scheme was gazetted by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) back in Oct 11, 2024 with initial plans to enforce this new ruling by April 7, 2025. Said deadline was then extended by another six months to Oct 7, 2025.
The key aim of this scheme is to curb fake and counterfeit products from entering this market space – a rather prevalent problem for this automotive product range specifically.
Expect more key players and brands to announce their SIRIM certification in the coming weeks leading up to this ruling’s enforcement deadline mentioned.
