- Subaru Teases JMS 2025 Concepts, Includes ‘Performance E-STI’ EV
Japanese marque Subaru has teased a myriad of new concepts set to headline its booth at this year's Japan Mobility Show (Tokyo Motor Show) that opens end of this month.

Japanese automaker Subaru is set to showcase a myriad of new concept vehicles at the upcoming Japan Mobility Show (JMS) 2025 (formerly Tokyo Motor Show) at the end of this month. What piques our interest here is something dubbed the ‘Performance E-STI’ concept.
Said concept mentioned will lead the brand’s Performance Scene section of its booth at JMS 2025, alongside another concept called the Performance B-STI. In a nutshell, Subaru touts the Performance E-STI concept representing a “new generation of performance.”
Headlining the booth's 'Performance Scene' half will be the Performance E-STI concept and Performance B-STI concept. At least one (likely the former) will be electrified to some degree.

Judging from the teaser images released, this concept - likely an electric vehicle (EV) - on show here will don a sleek, sporty aerodynamic design. There’s also the possibility that this concept dons a four-door saloon bodystyle.
Other bits touted by Subaru for the Performance E-STI concept include driver-friendly layout, aesthetic proportions, comfortable and spacious interior, as well as practicality. Ironically, Subaru does not allude to any details about any electric powertrain.

Teasers for the Performance B-STI concept show strong hints of the current WRX, albeit with more aggressive-looking flared wheel arches tacked on.

As for the Performance B-STI concept, the marque touts that it “achieves a balance of advanced performance and power with practicality.” There are strong hints of the current WRX in its teaser image, albeit with angrier-looking flared wheel arches tacked on.
Moving over to the other half of the brand’s booth, which it has dubbed ‘Adventure Scene’, it appears the Trailseeker – Subaru’s second ever EV model – prototype will be shown here. It will however be decked out in a myriad of adventure-centric accessories.

Over on the booth's 'Adventure Scene' half, Subaru is set to showcase a pair of 'Winderness' prototyped based on the six-gen Forester and seventh-gen Outback, not forgetting a new and rugged Trailseeker EV prototype.

Next to which comes a pair of Wilderness prototypes that underpin the current sixth-gen Forester and seventh-gen Outback. This likely hints at Subaru adopting the ‘Wilderness’ badge for variants marketed outside of North America – arguably the brand’s core export market.
Also on show this year is the modified 1983 Subaru GL wagon built and 'hooned' by Travis Pastrana in the renowned Gymkhana video series.

Joining these cars too is the modified 1983 Subaru GL wagon built and ‘hooned’ by rally ace Travis Pastrana in the Gymkhana online video series. Expect more details once JMS 2025 opens its doors later this month for its Press Days on Oct 29 and Oct 30.
Closer to home, Motor Image Malaysia has opened up orders for the new sixth-gen Subaru Forester model, and it's set to launch very soon - perhaps by month's end.

Closer to home, local brand importers and distributors Motor Image Malaysia recently opened up bookings for the new sixth-gen Forester mentioned. The Japanese marque’s staple C-SUV offering is set to officially launch soon, perhaps by month’s end too.
More information on the upcoming new sixth-gen Subaru Forester is available in our recent report, which you can read by clicking here.
