- Martin Schulz Succeeds Amanda Zhang As Mercedes-Benz Malaysia CEO

Mercedes-Benz Cars Malaysia has named Martin Schulz as its new chief executive officer (CEO) and president, effective February 1, 2026, marking a key leadership transition for the brand’s Southeast Asia operations.
Alongside his Malaysia role, Schulz will also take charge as head of a newly integrated Southeast Asia region, overseeing Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
The move consolidates leadership across four major markets as the luxury carmaker pushes ahead with regional growth and electrification plans.
Schulz succeeds Amanda Zhang, who will remain on the board of directors and take on a senior adviser role to support continuity and ensure a smooth transition.

Zhang, who has spent more than 20 years with Mercedes-Benz, played a central role in reshaping the brand’s retail and business strategy in the region.
During her tenure, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia introduced Southeast Asia’s first “Retail of the Future” agency model and launched the brand’s flagship luxury showroom, Stars@Mercedes-Benz Bangsar.
She also oversaw the expansion of the electric vehicle charging ecosystem, strengthened digital and data-driven retail capabilities, widened the product portfolio and delivered profitable growth in Singapore.
These initiatives helped position the company for long-term growth and accelerated electrification across Southeast Asia.
“It has been a privilege to lead Mercedes-Benz Malaysia and Singapore, and I am immensely proud of what our teams have achieved across the region
“I warmly welcome Martin Schulz and have full confidence in his leadership as the organisation enters its next phase of growth in Southeast Asia," Zhang said.
Schulz brings more than 25 years of experience with Mercedes-Benz, having joined the company in 1999. His international background includes previous CEO roles in the United Arab Emirates and Romania, as well as over a decade in senior management positions across Asia, including Vietnam, Thailand and Korea.
Most recently, Schulz was based at Mercedes-Benz headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany, where he held several senior roles in sales and marketing.

“I am delighted to return to Asia and lead our teams in Malaysia and across Southeast Asia
“This is a region of significant opportunity, and I look forward to working closely with our colleagues and retail partners to deliver exceptional customer experiences and reinforce our leadership in luxury mobility," Schulz stated.
He also expressed appreciation for his predecessor, adding that he valued Zhang’s support in ensuring a seamless transition and her continued guidance on key strategic initiatives.
