Bermaz Motor Recalls 6 Mazda Models for Fuel Pump Replacement
The official distributor of Mazda vehicles in Malaysia, Bermaz Motor has announced a recall for 6 Mazda models. If your Mazda2, Mazda3, Mazda6, CX-3, CX-5 or CX-9 are manufactured between 2017-2019, it’s possible that your fuel pump needs to be replaced.
A total of 19,685 Mazda vehicles are involved:
- Mazda2 2,028 units
- Mazda3 1,441 units
- Mazda6 13 units
- CX-3 381 units
- CX-5 15,780 units
- CX-9 42 units
This exercise is a necessary preventive measure as a faulty fuel pump may cause the loss of engine power and vehicle stalling. Other brands in Malaysia like Honda and Toyota have also been affected by this global product recall for Denso fuel pumps.
Bermaz Motor will notify customers through SMS and mail, they urge affected customers to notify any authorized Mazda service centre for rectification. For extra peace of mind, Mazda owners may also enter their chassis or Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) at Mazda Malaysia’s website.
