The New Hyundai Tucson Looks Like It Came From Star

Hyundai Motor Company today revealed the first images of the all-new Tucson, its world debut due on the 15th of September, and we are guessing that they have been taking cues from many recent sci-fi flicks for their design approach.

The all-new Tucson is an expression what Hyundai designers would like to call “Parametric Dynamics” that utilises lines, faces, angles and shapes to create a kinetic, jewel-like surface.

It also debuts the company’s new signature headlamp architecture called “Parametric Hidden Lights” – with the daytime running lights seamlessly integrated into a jewel-like grille. The Tucson will also come with a longer wheelbase and a Coupe-like exterior that’s wider than previous generation models.

“The mission of ‘Sensuous Sportiness’, first introduced on the new Elantra, is to elevate the emotional qualities of automotive design. We want our customers to feel moved,” said Hyundai Global Design Centre, Senior Vice President, SangYup Lee.

Hyundai says when one enters its “Interspace” cabin it is akin to entering a neatly organised room where everyday concerns just disappear – bringing minimalism to a whole new level.

Inside, the dashboard extends towards the doors, wrapping around the front occupants like a deep gorge while the centre console was inspired by cascading waterfalls.

Locally, Hyundai Sime Darby Motors is set to introduce the Hyundai Kona as the order books are now open. The Kona is priced at an estimated RM115,XXX and will be fully imported from South Korea.
