A Big Congratulations To Hyundai’s 2021 Elantra and Santa Fe For The Win On The IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK Awards!
The all-new 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe and Elantra at come with specific headlamps has bagged the 2021 TOP SAFETY PICK awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

On top of that, the vehicles were also in eighth and ninth place for the 2021 Top Safety Pick (TSP) or Top Safety Pick Plus (TSP+) rating. Prior to this, Hyundai had a total of seven models that won the TSP rating and two TSP+ ratings, as well as all SUV models in the company have earned TSP or TSP+ ratings.
At the moment, Hyundai is tied for third place for the most combined TSP+ and TSP-rated vehicles in the industry when the models are inclusive of LED headlights and also optional front crash prevention.
“These top ratings prove our commitment to safety,” said Hyundai Motor North America chief safety officer Brian Latouf. “Being an industry leader in safety and IIHS accolades is foundational to our brand, and we continually strive to provide outstanding passenger safety to our customers.”

In order for vehicles to be eligible for TSP, good ratings must be earned under all six IIHS evaluations of crashworthiness. These evaluations include driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests.
Not only that, a front crash prevention system that has earned advanced or superior ratings in the vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian tests and good- or acceptable-rated headlights has to be made available as well. However, as for the more esteemed TSP+ award, good or acceptable headlights must come as standard for all models.
