Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors Unveils The All New Kona 1.6 Turbo N Line And 1.6 Turbo!
Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) recently revealed it’s top of the class B-Segment SUV, the Kona 1.6 N Line and the Kona 1.6 Turbo. The starting price of the 1.6 N Line and 1.6 Turbo are *RM156,888 and *RM146,888, respectively (*Applicable to Peninsula Malaysia, OTR price is inclusive of the Penjana Sales Tax waiver but excludes insurance).


Under the hood of the vehicles is a powerful Smartstream G1.6 T-GDi, a turbocharged inline four- cylinder petrol engine that is paired with a Smartsteam 7DCT – 2nd generation of 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission that produces 201 hp at 6,000 rpm and 265 Nm of torque at 1,600-4,500 rpm.
“The top range Kona is the most powerful B-SUV in the market. The SUV’s ‘fun to drive’ characteristics and powerful performance will definitely put a smile on the face of anyone who drives it. The Kona’s distinctive design and fun colours is inspired by the Kona’s positive spirit,” said Managing Director of HSDM, Low Yuan Lung.
Other than that, it also comes with the state-of-the-art Hyundai Smartsense active safety and driving assistance technologies that include Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist (BCA) with Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), and Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go.
Following that, it also has features such as Forward Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW) with Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA), Rear Occupant Alert (ROA), Safe Exit Warning (SEW) and High Beam Assist (HBA).
Other highlights include a striking new front-end design with protective cladding panels, wide thin LED DRLs, as well as a wide distinctive centre grille. Not forgetting the horizontally stretched graphics of the new taillights.

The Kona 1.6 Turbo N Line and 1.6 Turbo are offered in five shades that include Surfy Blue, Dive in Jeju, Ignite Flame, Pulse Red, and Misty Jungle. Each exterior shade will be paired with the Phantom Black two-tone roof that also comes with matching mirror housings.

As for the interior, the Kona N Line is equipped with a dedicated N Line colour package in one-tone black leather and suede combination. Not only that, the driver and front passenger will also be able to enjoy ventilated and heated seat functions.

Featuring the new layout design that is similar to the Kona 2.0, the variants now come with a new console area, 10.25-inch digital cluster in addition to the 8-inch AVN screen with multiple Bluetooth connections and also wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an electric parking brake, new ambient light technology, passenger and driver side footwells, and new aluminium finish rings around the speakers and air vents.
Not to worry, the Kona 1.6 Turbo is also offered with a light beige interior trim for a more fresh look, complimenting the door panels and seats!

The KONA comes with a five-year or 300,000km (whichever comes first) warranty and a 3-year or 50,000km (whichever comes first) free maintenance service.
