Ride with Zero Carbon Emissions - Opel Rocks-e
It does look like a car but functioning more like a scooter? The new Opel Rocks-e has been unveiled as a light motor vehicle in Germany with a price range starting from €7,990 (RM33,320.68).
The German company’s mission is to produce a car that allows young people ages fifteen years old with approved licenses to drive around an Opel Rocks-e.
On the outside, it has an adorable shape 2.42 metres long and 1.30 metres wide that weighs 471 kilograms. With two-seater vehicles, the Rocks-e is categorised as Sustainable Urban Mobility light motor vehicles (SUM), which users can charge in three and a half hours.
Yes, the shape is charming, but the dimensions are pretty much compact, suitable for two occupants in a Rocks-e. An electric vehicle that functions fully on electricity produces zero carbon emissions and a range of up to 75 kilometres which can reach up to 45 kilometres per hour.
Then, the light motor vehicle is offering a 5.5-kilowatt-hour battery that can be fully recharged with a three-metre-long cable available to assist the much convenient charging process of the vehicle.
The Opel Rocks-e carries such benefits to people, especially in a busy city that deals with traffic in long hours. Besides its reasonable price, the vehicle also provides electric mobility to others.
Interestingly the light motor vehicles offer opposite directions for doors to open. Created to cut down its production costs, the doors swing in opposite directions. For example, when a passenger opens the door in the normal order, it is pulled backwards.
The Rocks-e is equipped with the new Opel Vizor brand face with LED headlights and indicators at the front for a compact size. Inside, a smartphone-holder on the centre console and DAT connectivity, the Rocks-e Klub and Rocks-e TeKno are also available.
However, Hands-free Bluetooth functionality for the smartphone is optionally available. Then, the panoramic glass roof and the full view both inside and outside is visible. A headroom space that can fit people with a height of around 1.90m and a luggage volume of more than 63 litres are offered to Opel passengers.
