2022 Best Car in Europe Region: KIA EV6 Scores Higher than Hyundai IONIQ 5?

Celebrating KIA first best in Car of The Year award, EV6 captured many cars enthusiasts’ attention with its captivating looks and impressive road performance.   

Revamped to a new identity “Opposites United” the champ is powered with its first electric motor based on its all-new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).

"Excellent EV because of its fast charging and good range for the price. In comparison with the Hyundai, the EV6 offers less body roll, more playful handling, and tighter steering. A bit sportier overall," stated an unidentified member in the Car of the Year winner's announcement.

Powertrain ranges offer Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese battery packs in both 58.0 kWh and 77.4 kWh. The KIA EV6 instead, delivers more than approximately 482 kilometres of all-electric range and vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality.

KIA EV6 levelled up by adding Augmented Reality Satellite Navigation which its navigation displayed on the windscreen as generally the GPS system placed at the centre. 

According to motor1.com, the Car of the year award decided by automotive journalists from 23 European countries with achieved 279 score points beating Ford Mustang, Peugeot 308, Skoda Enyaq, Cupra Born, Renault Megane E-Tech Electric with 265 points and even Hyundai IONIQ 5 at 261 points.

Based on the European WLTP rating, the EV can go as far as 528 kilometres (328 miles on a charge) and is available for rear or AWD drivetrain.
