Proton X70 CBU Recalled For A Service Fix For Radiator Fan Assembly

After the issue of component shortage, the cooling fan assembly on the fully imported (CBU) Proton X70 is currently being recalled.

The recall, classified as a "service fix," affects a batch of CBU X70s equipped with Valeo cooling fan assemblies and installed in vehicles prior to the effective chassis number L6T7742Z8KU043589.

This is a mandatory part replacement for the vehicles involved, and service centres will have been notified via a "pop-up" system beginning May 21 in Peninsular Malaysia and June 1 in East Malaysia.

According to the service bulletin, vehicles manufactured after this chassis number will have received the upgraded LangXin cooling fan assembly. As previously stated, the recall only applies to the CBU (fully imported) batch of the Proton X70 prior to the chassis number listed above.

With the release of the 2020 model update, the national carmaker's C-segment SUV transitioned into CKD local assembly, bringing a slew of improvements including a seven-speed, wet-clutch DCT.
