The MINI Spaceman Concept, Reinventing An Everlasting Iconic Design

Compact size, powerful engineering, superb handling, and comfort, the MINI Cooper’s fundamental design has been true to its roots all these years.

Today, to heighten its classic British styling into the next age of modernization, influenced by lounge-styled commuting, the MINI Spaceman concept was born.

Interestingly, the idea for this hatchback concept is to encase the occupants in comfort, while leaving room for lounging when desired.

It features an interior that prioritises the sense of freedom with the use of more glass panels on all sides as compared to the current generation MINI.

Then, what’s unique, it swaps out the conventional four-seater configuration for a futuristic three-seater setup.

Said seating configuration has a front seat that can be oriented in the relaxation mode as it can be moved in all directions depending on need. 

What’s more, it can even be folded down to make space for additional cushions for relaxing comfortably on the rear seats. 

Exterior-wise, the overall silhouette exudes a very futuristic appeal, despite the lingering classic two-door, curvy yet straight contours of its side profile.

The rear, though, is shaped differently. It gives way for a sharper aesthetic and more space. Notably, it has an elongated boot section. 

Other than that, to further propel the feeling of liberty, the MINI Spaceman also comes in a convertible model. 

All in all, if this comes into production, it will for sure reinvent the hatchback’s iconic status, but whether or not it will be rejoiced by MINI enthusiasts, is another story.
