‘30 Years Of The Porsche Supercup’ Honoured With A Special-Edition 911 GT3

Honouring ‘30 years of the Porsche Supercup’, the Porsche Museum presents a special-edition 911 GT3 anniversary model along with four other Cup racers. The exhibition is until 28 August.
On display with the anniversary model is the 911 GT3 Cup in VIP Car design, the flagship of the Supercup series and the 911 GT3 Cup 3.8 from 1994, based on the 911 generation Type 993.

Then, the other two are the third-generation 911 Carrera 2 Cup, based on the 911 Carrera RS and the 911 GT3 Cup Type 997, the first Cup vehicle to be delivered by Porsche without ABS.
The main attraction, the roadgoing special-edition 911 GT3 is based on the 911 GT3 Cup racer that is contesting in the one-make series of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.

For context, the 911 GT3 Cup racer is built on the current 992 generation 911, and its output of around 375-kW (503 HP) outmuscles its direct predecessor by 25 HP.
Aesthetic-wise, the special-edition 911 GT3 comes in the 30th anniversary livery, with its design adaptation of the VIP Car 2022 serves as the basis for the model’s special production.
Said design elements feature the 30th anniversary icon, the names of the previous Porsche Supercup champions, the pixel grid and the colour scheme.

That said, this creation represents the link between Porsche as a manufacturer of exclusive vehicles and the commitment to motorsport within the framework of the Porsche Supercup for 30 years.
Porsche Motorsport’s vice president, Thomas Laudenbach, concluded, “Thirty years of the Porsche Supercup, that’s an extraordinary time span for the international flagship of our one-make cups. Such success is only possible thanks to the professionalism of everyone involved, from the drivers and the teams to the organisers.”
