The 2023 Lexus GX gets Black Line treatment

Though the Lexus marque has a brand new LX flagship luxury SUV sitting at the top of its line-up, the brand also still offers the GX in certain markets, namely North America. like the LX, the GX is a full-sized luxury SUV, but age is definitely catching up to it – this second-gen model has been around since 2009.
It has seen numerous upgrades since, with the latest of which revealed earlier this week, sporting the brand’s Black Line interior and exterior treatment. Just 3,000 units of the Lexus GX 460 in Black Line treatment have been planned, likely suggesting this will also double-up as a run-out special of sorts.

Based on the Premium trim, this new Black Line special can be dressed in either Eminent White Pearl, Obsidian, and Nori Green Pearl. It also gets black-finished 18-inch wheels, rear spoiler, radio antenna fin, fog light housing trim, and skid plates.
Lexus might have a new LX, but the top dog GX is still ahead of its game with a few upgrades planned for 2023. Since the model received an interior update with a 10.3-inch infotainment system last year, the 2023 changes are minor, with the highlight being a revamped Black Line Special Edition.
On board, the cabin is now decked with a black headliner. There’s also grey pipe-stitching present, new Boulder Grey NuLuxe-trimmed seat accents, as well as Black Matte Ash Wood trim. Other key features present include a Mark Levinsion premium audio system, and a panoramic view monitor.

Mechanically, the Lexus GX 460 Black Line harnesses a 4.6-liter V8 that’s rated at 301 hp and 446 Nm – the same that powers the rest of the GX line up. Mated with the mill is a six-speed automatic box and all-wheel-drive.
As for pricing, the Lexus GX 460 roughly starts at US$57,575 (approx. RM255,834.42) and rises to US$68,230 (approx. RM RM303,179.90) for the range-topping GX460 Luxury.
Are you digging Lexus’ take of the American-styled luxury SUV in the GX as featured? Or is the brand’s new LX flagship the one to tickle your fancy better?
