KEA has partnered with Electrify America to build ultra-fast public charging stations as well as delivery fleet electric vehicle (EV) charging to over 25 IKEA retail locations across the United States.
‘’The company is more convenient and accessible as people could travel with zero-emissions by 2030 to reduce relative emissions from customer, co-worker travel including home deliveries by 50%’’ stated Climate and Energy Leader, Karol Gobczyski.
She also claims that IKEA has met its goal in 2021 of providing EV charging stations in all stores with parking to ensure a convenient experience for customers who have made the switch to EVs.

The Swedish furniture retailer also collaborated with Electrify Commercial, a business unit that develops turnkey EV charging solutions for businesses to install over 225 individual chargers at each of its stores.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with IKEA to establish both public and commercial fleet charging stations - a brand that shares our vision of a more sustainable future," said President and CEO of Electrify America, Giovanni Palazzo.
"Through this partnership, Electrify America, Electrify Commercial, and IKEA U.S. are paving the way for customers and businesses to transition to zero-emission transportation."
More than 200 individual ultra-fast chargers will be available at IKEA retail locations across 18 states, offering the fastest charging speeds available today ranging from 150kW to 350kW.
The first locations are expected to open in late 2022 and will continue to open until 2023.
Currently, over 800 stations and 3,500 individual chargers are available, with plans to expand to 1,800 charging stations and 10,000 individual chargers in the United States and Canada by 2026.
