NISMO Developed NISSAN GT4 Coming In 2023

The all-new Nissan Z premiered in August 2022 and has received mixed reaction from its fan base. Some love it while some simply think of it as a reshelled 370Z. Whatever the case we have to agree that the NIssan Z is one of the last few Japanese sports coupes being offered which automatically makes it something special.
Moving on Nissan has taken the Nissan Z one notch up in the GT4 guise. This project was a joint effort between Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and Nissan Motorsports & Customizing Co., Ltd. (NMC).
The GT4 is basically a spec meant for competitive race use closely based on the road-going production vehicles. NMC’s NISMO Racing Division basically took the street version of the new Z and tweaked it by retune-ing the VR30DDTT engine, optimising its chassis and suspension, enhancing its aerodynamics based on regulation limits and creating a cockpit that works for drivers of all types. This in-turn results in a race car that is a Nissan Z in all aspects while being accessible to enthusiast drivers and hard-core professionals alike.
“Motorsports for Nissan is an expression of our passion and unrivalled expertise. The Nissan Z continues to maintain its position as an exciting sports car that fascinates drivers with its driving dynamics and flexible powertrain,” said Nissan COO Ashwani Gupta. “We are confident that this track-ready GT4-category Nissan Z will be ready to write another chapter in the Nissan Z’s 50-plus-year legacy of speed.”
The development of the Nissan Z GT4 was done at the NISMO’s engineering facilities with multiple track-test sessions and also as thru a test-entry vehicle which participated in the Fuji 24 Hour Race in June, as well as additional Super Taikyu Series events at Motegi and more.
As of now, no details were spelled out as Nissan plans to reveal during the upcoming 2022 SEMA show in the United States on November 1 – 4. It is expected to start order deliveries in the first half of 2023.
