BMW M Community Broke Six Malaysian Records During M4NTAP Trackday!
BMW M’s credibility as a performance brand has garnered millions of fans worldwide. With M models breaking multiple performance records before, the same spirit is being emulated by local Malaysian BMW M enthusiasts.
Six local BMW M owners have earned their spot in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) following a trackday event organised by M4NTAP – Malaysia’s BMW M community – at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) last weekend.
Said records were for the Fastest 1M/M2 lap time, Fastest Naturally-Aspirated M3, Fastest Turbocharged M3/M4, Fastest Naturally-Aspirated M5/M6, Fastest M5/M6/M8, as well as Fastest Non-M BMW.
BMW Malaysia’s managing director Hans de Visser, through a press statement, congratulated these record-setting community members and praised the M4NTAP community. “This is a community that we proudly cherish, support, and continue to serve with excitement, with every new vehicle or programme we introduce,” said the exec in his statement.
The first MBOR award for the Fastest 1M/M2 was presented to Jay Choong and his F87 BMW M2 after logging in a fastest time of 2:22.154s. Taking the Fastest Nat-Asp M3 award was Adi Fansuri who piloted an E92 BMW M3 to log a fastest time of 2:26.743s.
The third award, which was for the Fastest Turbocharged M3/M4, went to Hisham Jaffar who drove an F82 BMW M4 and logged a fastest time of 2:20.549s. Hisham’s feat also bagged him a second accolade by being the fastest BMW M car to lap SIC during the event.
For the Fastest Nat-Asp M5/M6 award, Aaron Kow and his E60 BMW M5 clinched this title after logging in a fastest time of 2:33.007s. Next, the Fastest M5/M6/M8 award was claimed by Mohamed Heikel who logged-in a fastest time of 2:37.674s with his F90 BMW M5. Lastly came Adil Adnan who took the title of Fastest Non-M BMW with his F30 BMW 330i that charted a fastest time of 2:31.674s.
M4NTAP is BMW M-exclusive community that gathers fellow local BMW M car lovers under one roof. Details about the M4NTAP community, as well as other BMW M Malaysia community events, can be found via said community’s official website and Instagram.
