Gran Turismo 7 25th Anniversary Update – Long-awaited car-selling feature enabled!
Following a teaser that dropped on Twitter earlier this week, game developers Polyphony Digital have made good on their promise with their latest update patch for the Gran Turimo 7 game. Rolled out from Nov 24 onwards is the Update 1.26 patch that adds a host of new content plus a long-awaited feature.
Firstly, players can now sell their cars in the game as this feature has been finally enabled through this latest update, which comes nine months since the Playstation-exclusive title’s initial release. This effort sees Polyphony Digital finally addressing one of the biggest criticism faced by the driving simulator title since its release.
There’s much to say about how this feature works, but we’ll detail that in a separate posting altogether. What’s certain is that this long-awaited in-game feature is what many fans have been pushing the developers for since its release, and it should see the bulk of players mitigating some of the game’s economics – widely lauded by fans and critics alike to be relatively poor and difficult.

Besides that, Update 1.26 centres itself around the title’s landmark 25th anniversary and it sees the home screen decked out with a celebratory-themed motif. Aligning with this, players will also receive a free car in the form of Red Bull X2019 25th Anniversary Special Edition that’s dressed in a rather special and striking livery.
Celebrations for the 25th Anniversary event continues with the GT World Finals competition’s broadcast live from Monaco. The inaugural event, held at the principality’s Le Sporting Monte Carlo venue, runs from Nov 24 and 27 where a total of 56 racers from 19 countries will participate in the virtual competitions.

Celebration-themed content aside, Update 1.26 also sees Gran Turismo adding three new cars plus a new race-track and ‘Scapes’ content. Starting with the new vehicles, the trio is led by the 2018 (F87) BMW M2 Competition, followed by the 1987 Ford Sierra RS 500 Cosworth, and the 1996 Nissan Silvia K’s Aero (S14).

As for the new track, it’s the famed Michelin Road Atlanta course that makes its debut in the game. The addition of this 4.088 KM-long course located in Braselton, Georgia is a mainstay of the Petit Le Mans endurance racing series that’s been running since 1998.
Lastly, Update 1.26 also sees new scenery added into the game’s ‘Scapes’ interactive photography feature. New here now is the ‘Illuminations’ scene located at the Shinko Central Square in Yokohama, Japan. It consists of lots of lights and the framework of a geodesic dome. Also, scenes from the aforementioned Michelin Road Atlanta course is also accessible via the Scapes mode through this update.
