Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.27 Rolls Out: Five New Cars Added
In time for the festive Christmas holidays, developers Polyphony Digital have rolled out yet another update for its staple Gran Turismo 7 Playstation-exclusive game title. This month’s patch, known as Update 1.27, sees the game welcome five new cars in total, along with several other minor additions and bug fixes too.

Leading the new cars bill is the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo, which was revealed last month during the Gran Turismo World Series 2022 World Finals event. Ferrari’s first ever creation developed exclusively for the game will be released both as a reward for those who took part in the ‘Viewers Campaign’ held during said World Finals event, as well as a purchasable in-game car priced at 1,000,000 Credits.

To quickly recap, the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo harnesses an unrestricted version of Ferrari’s electrified 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 as found in the 296 GTB, albeit boasting an output figure of over 1,000 HP instead of said road-going PHEV supercar’s ‘modest’ 819 HP figure. You can find out more about the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo from our initial launch report by clicking this link.
That aside, the other four cars added through Update 1.27 consists of the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm, the Bugatti Chiron, the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (C8), as well as the infamously controversial but still legendary 1995 Toyota Celica GT-Four (ST205) rally car.

We’ll start with the Celica rally racer, which stood as the most powerful iteration of the ST205-generation car ever produced. However, many will remember this Castrol-liveried rally racer for its infamous cheating scandal in 1995. Though it was an ingenious hack by Toyota Team Europe at the time, said outfit was banned for a year following the discovery, whilst its drivers had their championship points stripped too.
Nevertheless, you can now virtually relive how this 1995 Toyota Celica GT-Four dominated the dirt in Gran Turismo 7 thanks to Update 1.27, with the car itself available for purchase via the game’s ‘Legend Cars’ pavilion.

Next up comes the new eighth generation Chevrolet Corvette. Known as the C8, it will forever be renowned as the first ever mid-engined iteration of the famed Corvette sportscar lineage. Mounted in the middle of its chassis is a 6.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 mill that delivers 490 HP and 630 NM to the rear wheels through a Tremec 8-speed DCT box.
Keen fans of the ‘Vette can now have a go – virtually, that is – with this latest mid-engined C8 model on Gran Turismo 7 thanks to Update 1.27. This future American classic retails in the game via the ‘Brand Central’ section priced at 85,000 Credits.

Also available through the Brand Central pavilion now is the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm. One of the most highly requested cars amongst its community of players, the Giulia GTAm is the most extreme, track-focused version of the M3-rivalling Giulia Quadrifoglio sports saloon by Alfa Romeo. Much of this stems from the 533 HP generated by its uprated 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 mill.
Other notable bits of this super-saloon recreated virtually in the game include its racy cabin that’s primed with a roll cage and a rear seat delete too. As for price, the Giulia GTAm retails in the game for 220,000 Credits.

Lastly comes the introduction of the Bugatti Chiron hypercar, which is also available through the game’s Brand Central section. Like in real life, this Bug’ isn’t cheap, commanding 3,000,000 Credits from players wishing to purchase it. Well, given its renowned 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 mill’s 1,479 HP output and ability to hit speeds beyond 350 KM/H, reckon said price is somewhat justified, even in the virtual realm.
Apart from these five cars, Update 1.27 also sees Gran Turismo 7 added with several new ‘Menu Books’ side missions, a host of new race events added at several ‘World Circuit’ venues, as well 40 new scenes from Norway added into its ‘Scapes’ photography mode. As per all updates released thus far, these new content all come on top of minor bug fixes as well.
As for availability, Update 1.27 for Gran Turismo 7 begins rolling out starting Dec 15 onwards, measuring 1.3 GB for the Playstation 5 version and 1.4 GB for the Playstation 4 version of the title.
