Stunning Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo Unveiled With Over 1,000 HP!
As previewed prior, fabled Italian supercar marque Ferrari debuted its first ever Vision Gran Turismo concept for popular Playstation-exclusive driving title Gran Turismo 7. Said concept was unveiled last weekend during said game’s GT World Series 2022 World Finals event held in Monaco.

Taking cues from its historic racing past, the Ferrari VGT concept sports a retro-futuristic design with elements inspired by the 330 P3 and 512 S racecars from the 1960s and 1970s respectively. It’s also envisioned as a single-seat, closed-cockpit machine, which comes draped in "75" graphics to commemorate the Maranello-based institution's three-quarters of a century milestone since the brand's first race car was introduced – the 125 S from 1947.
Not just paying homage to the past, the Ferrari VGT concept also stands as future inspiration, evidently proven by the rear end’s design that’s derived from the recently introduced 499P - the wing and diffuser especially. Ferrari also developed vented wheel arches and a newly patented aerodynamic technique with two side channels routing airflow around the cockpit and over the side pods.
Unlike other VGT concepts made by the likes of Porsche or Jaguar that utilises a full electric powertrain, Ferrari opted for a hybrid setup instead that mirrors to that primed in some of its key production models, namely the 296 GTB/GTS.

This explains Ferrari’s vision of this concept harnessing a mid-mounted 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 mill that’s tuned to deliver 1,016 HP and 900 NM – figured enabled by the absence of any restrictions. Additionally, there’s another 322 HP (240 kW) supplemented by triple-motor setup – one for each front wheel plus another for the rear axle.

Ferrari says that the combined torque from the hybrid system on the rear axle alone stands at a whopping 1,100 NM. Also, thanks to tech derived from its Formula 1 endeavour, the Ferrari VGT’s battery promises enough energy for maximum performance at all times.
All that power and twist is managed by a combination of Ferrari’s 8-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel-drive (AWD) driveline, thus allowing 0-100 KM/H despatched in under 2 seconds, 0-200 KM/H in under 5 seconds, as well as a V-Max well over 350 KM/H.
The Formula 1-derived tech and engineering doesn’t stop at the powertrain and driveline as the Ferrari VGT is also constructed upon a carbon fibre chassis that’s primed with a elasto-kinematic suspension setup to ensure this concept handles as well as it looks.

Ferrari even estimates this concept to lap its famed Fiorano test track in under 1 min 10 sec too. For context, Ferrari’s flagship SF90 Stradale plug-in hybrid (PHEV) supercar, did it in 1:19 minutes. In theory, this seems possible also thanks to Ferrari’s vision of this VGT concept’s weight of 1,250 KG – 320 KG less than said SF90 flagship.
Gran Turismo 7 players can virtually sample the Ferrari VGT through the game when it releases next month just before Christmas on Dec 23. Furthermore, Ferrari has also built a full-sized scale model of this concept, which will go on display at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello until March 2023.
