Tesla EVs Ranked Worst In Annual Reliability Poll By Consumer Reports

According to the annual dependability assessment conducted by Consumer Reports magazine on Tuesday, electric cars (EVs) from Tesla Inc. and other companies were among the least reliable automobiles in the country.

EVs and full-size pickup trucks have the highest market demand, but they are also the "most troublesome," according to the nonprofit group that assesses goods and services.

According to the report, 36% of potential consumers are considering buying a hybrid vehicle as their next car or truck.

The most valuable automaker in the world, Tesla, moved up four points to 19th place overall among the 24 brands. According to the research, the market leader in EVs still has problems with its vehicles' body hardware, steering/suspension, paint and trim, and climate control.

The Elon Musk-led company announced in October that it expects to miss its vehicle delivery goal this year and cited logistical difficulties as the reason.

Lexus was the top-scoring brand overall, and seven of the top ten brands were Japanese or Korean.

Lincoln was the only brand owned by Detroit-based automakers to make the top ten, taking the tenth spot.

Based on data gathered, the magazine's yearly review of new vehicle reliability forecasts which cars will give owners fewer or more issues than their rivals. Consumers and business leaders in the industry are influenced by its scorecard.
